The Centenary Stage Company (CSC), a not-for-profit professional theater in residence at Centenary University, is pleased to announce auditions for its 2025 Summer Musical Theater productions: Jimmy Buffett鈥檚 Escape to Margaritaville and Nunsense 2: The Second Coming.
Jimmy Buffett鈥檚 Escape to Margaritaville , a high-spirited musical comedy featuring beloved Jimmy Buffett classics such as 鈥淐heeseburger in Paradise,鈥� 鈥淢argaritaville,鈥� and 鈥淚t鈥檚 Five O鈥機lock Somewhere.鈥� Follow a charismatic island bartender-singer and a driven scientist who discover that life can be more than just work or play鈥攕ometimes it鈥檚 the perfect blend of both. Nunsense 2: The Second Coming features the return The Little Sisters of Hoboken . This sequel finds the singing nuns dancing and crooning their way into audiences鈥� hearts, featuring a feisty Mother Superior, starry-eyed novices, and theatrical mischief galore .
Auditions will take place Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27 on the campus of Centenary University, Hackettstown NJ in the Carol and David Lackland Center. Auditions for the Summer Program will be held on Saturday, April 26 1:00 PM 鈥� 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 27 General Auditions : 11:00 AM 鈥� 3:00 PM Dance Call 3:30 PM 鈥� 5:00 PM and Call backs 5:00 PM 鈥� 7:00 PM (Callbacks) .
Rehearsals for Escape to Margaritaville begin in early June with performances July 10th to July 20 and Nunsense 2 rehearsals beginning July with performances July 31st to August 10th. Shows perform Thursdays at 7pm , Friday and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm . Additional scheduling information for both productions will be provided at auditions
Preparation:
路 Prepare 16鈥�32 bars of a song in the style of the shows; selections from Escape to Margaritaville or Nunsense are welcome but not required.
路 An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music. No recorded music or singing cappella is permitted.
路 Bring a headshot and r茅sum茅.
路 Actors may be asked to learn a brief dance combination during the Dance Call; please dress accordingly.
路 Guitar skills (particularly for Tully and Rachel in Escape to Margaritaville) may be showcased.
