DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a trans femme/trans woman actress for the role of ALLISON in it's been ten years since everyone died by Cesario Tirado-Ortiz. This is the NYC premiere of the show after it's world premiere in Chicago at Open Space Arts.
Character Description:
ALLISON- she/her. 25. a tired altruist. desperate for things to go right.
Please submit a reel and/or contemporary monologue that is no longer than 2 minutes.
This is a horror play, so be aware there is a lot to unpack here. Trigger warnings include:
鈥� discussion and depictions of blood and gore, specifically cannibalism.
鈥� discussion of disordered eating (it's related to the cannibalism.)
鈥� disturbing imagery and body horror.
鈥� transphobia targeted at nonbinary folk and trans women.
鈥� internalized homophobia.
鈥� discussion of mental health and suicide.
鈥� rampant abuse of therapists. sorry if you鈥檙e a therapist. my bad.
This production will take place at The Tank on the following dates:
-Sunday, June 1st at 3:00pm
-Monday, June 2nd at 7:00pm
-Wednesday, June 4th at 7:00pm
-Saturday, June 7th at 3:00pm
Rehearsals are subject to company availability but will likely happen 3 to 4 times a week starting in late April.
All actors will receive a stipend of $150 plus a percentage of the box office proceeds.
The production will be directed by Aaron Clark Burstein. An intimacy coordinator and trans sensitivity coordinator will be provided.
