About the Project

At a midsummer鈥檚 evening dinner in Obama鈥檚 DC, one close-knit, extended family gets together to host a new guest: the descendant of their ancestors鈥 slaveholders. Property follows the family and their 鈥渃ousin鈥 as they uncover their intertwined histories, and unearth truths that have been buried in the past鈥 over turkey and greens. This is an unpaid non-union project developed at Columbia University School of the Arts|Theater under the guidance of Katherine Wilkinson and Scott Whitehurst.
