From the late 1970s until 1982, Mr. Garner lived in Los Angeles to work in television and film. He played Admiral Asimov in the last season of "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" and was Jason Defarge, the drunken food critic, in a 1982 episode of "Three's Company."
