In his native England, he acted with the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Chichester Festival and Bristol Old Vic. He worked with such well-regarded actors as David Jones (The Last Confession), Anthony Page (The Night of the Iguana), Peter Wood (The Beaux Stratagem) and Adrian Noble (A Doll's House). He made his debut on Broadway with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a 1983 Trevor Nunn-directed production of All's Well That Ends Well, playing the King of France.
Mr. Franklyn-Robbins was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Wiltshire, England, and was trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
