
The cr猫me de la cr猫me of make鈥搖p artists and costumers are working on Broadway. We asked a few of them to share their secrets on how to easily create a great Broadway-inspired look for Halloween.鈥� 鈥�
Jeff Mahshie, a Drama Desk-nominated costume designer whose credits include Broadway's Next to Normal and The Little Dog Laughed and Off-Broadway's Becky Shaw and Hurlyburly, gave us a special look at how to come up with "before and after" looks based on the costumes good-girl-gone-bad Sandy wears in Grease.鈥� 鈥�

"Good" Sandy White crew neck
T-shirt
Cardigan sweater (optional) 鈥�
Skirt (Buy fabric; a stiff cotton will eliminate the need for a crinoline)
Pearls
Headband

How to make the costumes
"Good" Sandy
Step 1: Take skirt fabric and fold in quarters.鈥�
Step 2: Take waist measurement. Divide by 4. (i.e. 20"). Measure from waist to desired hem cut. Sew seam.
Step 3: Cut out a poodle in felt (Get a picture off the Internet and trace). Glue poodle to skirt.
Step 4-FINAL: Add pearls, headband and white sneakers and socks. Feel free to alter accessories.
"Bad" Sandy
Step 1: Gather tank top straps and center. 鈥� 鈥�
Step 2: Take black opaque stockings. Cut mid-calf.鈥� 鈥�
Step 3-FINAL: Add kid-friendly red ballet flats.
