The Tony Awards Administration Committee assembled April 10 to confirm the eligibility status of eight Broadway productions for the 2024鈥2025 season.

Productions discussed included English, Redwood, Purpose, Buena Vista Social Club, Operation Mincemeat, Othello, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Glengarry Glen Ross.

This was the third time this season that the Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 78th Annual Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. (Read the first and second rounds of decisions here.) Broadway productions must open by April 27 to be eligible for nomination. Nominations for the 2025 Tony Awards will be announced May 1.

The Tony Awards usually place artists in consideration for the various award categories based on their billing at opening night. The Administration Committee rules when artists are considered in ways that fall outside of those credits.

The committee made the following determinations:

Scenic designer Jason Ardizzone-West and video designer Hana S. Kim will be considered jointly eligible in the Best Scenic Design of a Musical category for their work on Redwood.

David Cumming will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical.

Natasha Hodgson will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical category for her performance in Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical.

The Picture of Dorian Gray will be considered eligible in the Best Play category. Oscar Wilde and Kip Williams will be considered jointly eligible as co-authors.

Scenic designer Marg Horwell and video designer David Bergman will be considered jointly eligible in the Best Scenic Design of a Play category for their work on The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Kieran Culkin, Bob Odenkirk, and Bill Burr will each be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play category for their performances in Glengarry Glen Ross.

All other eligibility determinations were consistent with the show鈥檚 opening-night credits. That is, only actors whose names appear above the title are eligible for nomination in the Leading Actor/Actress categories. Producers must petition the Administration Committee in order to change actors' eligibility status.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee is comprised of 24 members: 10 are designated by the Wing, 10 by the League, and one each by the Dramatists Guild, Actors鈥 Equity Association, United Scenic Artists, and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. The committee determines eligibility for nominations in all awards categories and reviews the rules governing the awards.

The 78th Annual Tony Awards will be presented June 8 at Radio City Music Hall and broadcast live on CBS with streaming on Paramount+.
