Rarely-seen Tennessee Williams one-acts Interior: Panic and The Pretty Trap will get an Off-Broadway run via The Fire Weeds, to perform May 15-30 at Houghton Hall Arts Community's Astaire Ballroom, with opening night set for May 18.
Collectively titled Outraged Hearts, the evening will present both works over one evening, both early versions of plays that went on to become Williams classics. Interior: Panic was a precursor to A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Pretty Trap was an early comedic version of The Glass Menagerie.
The cast will feature Jaclyn Bethany (The Rehearsal), Lin Gathright (American Horror Story), Chris Ghaffari (Coriolanus), Jacob Storms (Red Oaks), and Sarah Schuler (Ruby). Casting is by Hunter McHugh.
Jaclyn Bethany is directing, with scenic design by Teresa L. Williams, lighting design by Zoe Griffith, sound design by Amara Skinner, costume design by Stacy Scarborough, intimacy coordination by Nicole Chaffin, production stage management by Grace Curley, and assistant stage management by Maggie Dunn. Josh Sobel of Future Home Productions is consulting producer.
