Sorvino (The Baker's Wife, ) plays God, whose chief negotiator Pascal (Rent, ) tries to avert all-out war with Lucifer (played by scriptwriter Terrance Zdunich), who is determined to leave Hades, which is imagined as a carnival, and crash the Pearly Gates of Paradise.
Also featured in the cast is Barry Bostwick, who played Danny Zuko in the original Broadway , but who is better known for the role of Brad in another campfest, on stage and film. Plus David Hasselhoff (both title characters in ), (title character in ), horror legend Bill Mosely and rapper Tech N9ne.
The show has a score by Zdunich and Saar Hendelman, and will be directed by another horror veteran, Darren Lynn Bousman ("Saw II," "Saw III" and "Saw IV").
The film is going to be rolled out like a rock band road-show attraction, meaning that it will be shown in select venues around the country where patrons can buy reserved seat tickets in advance.
After the Aug. 11 Los Angeles premiere, the show is scheduled to tour to Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia Toroto, Chicago and three dozen other cities before returning to Los Angeles Oct. 18.
