An all-star lineup is at The Hollywood Bowl July 28 to perform a tribute concert to Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Sch枚nberg July 28.
Titled Do You Hear the People Sing?, the concert explores the legendary catalogue that the duo have produced in the 50 years since they first met, featuring their hits from Les Mise虂rables and Miss Saigon as well as rarely heard material from their musicals Martin Guerre, The Pirate Queen, and La Re虂volution Fran莽aise, their first collaboration.
Kevin Stites is conducting the mixture of Broadway and West End talent, including Patrick Wilson, Skylar Astin, Emily Bautista, Jon Jon Briones, Nikki Ren茅e Daniels, Rachel Tucker, and Marie Zamora, together with a 60-piece orchestra and choir.
Stites has previously conducted the Do You Hear the People Sing concert tribute鈥痺ith the Oklahoma City and Hartford symphony orchestras. On Broadway he was the conductor of the 2006 revival of Les Mis茅rables. This concert was originally created by Boublil and Scho虉nberg, and is the only celebration of their work that the duo has ever authorized. Do You Hear The People Sing? premiered at Shanghai Grand Theatre.
