An original cast recording of Cat Kid Comic Club: The Musical is in the works, with an exact release date to be announced soon. The musical features a book and lyrics by Tony nominee Kevin Del Aguila and music by Brad Alexander, and is based on Dav Pilkey鈥檚 book series of the same name.
Cat Kid Comic Club played an Off-Broadway run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in summer 2023. The complete Off-Broadway cast will reunite to record the album, including L.R. Davidson, Jeremy Fuentes, Michael Thomas Holmes, Jamie LaVerdiere, Brian Owen, Sonia Roman, Dan Rosales, Malynne Smith, and Markia Nicole Smith.
The album will feature music direction by Matt Castle, vocal arrangements by Brad Alexander and Castle, and orchestrations by Alexander.
The musical is currently in its second season of touring North America, with an engagement at Toronto's CAA Theatre coming up April 12-May 4.
