Anoushka Lucas' solo show Elephant will make a London return, this time in a reimagined production at Menier Chocolate Factory. Previews will begin May 22 ahead of a May 29 opening, with the run continuing through June 28.
The work tracks a young girl's love affair with an upright piano, a rare ray of sunshine in a world of distracted parents, mean cousins, and a precarious school situation. As an adult, she finds herself with new questions, the answers to which might just come from an old friend.
For the new staging, Lucas will reunite with director Jess Edwards, who also directed the piece's world premiere at the Bush Theatre in 2022. The Menier run will feature design by Georgia Wilmot, lighting by Laura Howard, sound by Xana, and video design by Gillian Tan.
