Hulu's Only Murders in the Building has picked up more Broadway talent for its upcoming fifth season, with Hello, Dolly! and Funny Girl star Beanie Feldstein set to join the cast in an undisclosed role, . Just about all we know about the upcoming season is that it will investigate the murder of doorman Lester, whose death was revealed at the end of the most recent season.
Feldstein is the latest stage favorite to join the New York City-set series, which has also featured performances from Martin Short, Steve Martin, Jackie Hoffman, Paul Rudd, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Jayne Houdyshell, Jane Lynch (Feldstein's former Funny Girl co-star), Tina Fey, and more. The upcoming season is also set to include performances from Jermaine Fowler, Ren茅e Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, T茅a Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, and Logan Lerman.
Launching in 2021, the series follows three amateur murder sleuths-turned-podcasters as they investigate deaths in their Upper West Side apartment building, the Arconia. The show has been an Emmy-winning success, winning Broadway songwriters Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman a 2024 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics ("Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It," a song written for a fictitious Broadway musical being produced in the show's third season), and an Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy for season one guest star Nathan Lane, among other wins.
Martin and John Hoffman are co-creators of the series, and executive produce with Short, Selena Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal. According to reporting in Variety, the series is Hulu鈥檚 most-watched original comedy series to date.
