News Box-Office Opening Date Set for Sara Bareilles' Musical Waitress The box office will open Feb. 15 for Sara Bareilles' Broadway musical Waitress, starring Tony winner Jessie Mueller.

Tickets go on sale 10 AM that day when the box office opens at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) in Manhattan. Costumed waitresses will serve the first 100 ticket buyers a homemade pie created by production pie consultant Stacy Donnelly. () recently joined the cast as Earl, the oppressive husband of lead character Jenna (Mueller), in the musical, which starts Broadway previews March 25 and opens at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre April 24 following a sold-out, world-premiere production at A.R.T in Cambridge, MA. Mueller, who won the Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical for Beautiful, also starred in the A.R.T. production.

The supporting cast features , who earned Tony nominations for both and Finian鈥檚 Rainbow, as Ogie, and fellow Tony nominee (), who will recreate the role of Becky that she originated in the show's earlier production.

Also announced for the Broadway production: (, , , ) as Cal, (, ) as Dr. Pomatter, (鈥淥range Is The New Black,鈥� , Love鈥檚 Labour鈥檚 Lost) as Dawn, (, Rocky, ) as Joe, (A Christmas Story), (Heathers The Musical), (), (Waitress at A.R.T.), Ryan Vasquez () and ensemble members Charity Ang茅l Dawson, and .

Waitress, according to press notes, concerns "Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker, [who] is stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. When a baking contest in a nearby county offers her a chance at escape, Jenna must weigh her commitments against a rare shot at freedom and recognition. Her customers, co-workers, and the town鈥檚 handsome new doctor all offer her conflicting recipes for happiness 鈥� but Jenna must ultimately decide for herself."

Based on the motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, the new musical has a book by and music and lyrics by five-time Grammy nominee Bareilles.

Directed by Tony winner with choreography by , Waitress will have set design by , costumes by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting by Christopher Akerlind, sound by Jonathan Deans, casting by Telsey & Company and music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo. 

Waitress will be produced on Broadway by Barry and and Norton and Elayne Herrick.
