Broadway shows took in a total of $30,541,918 for the week ending December 18, with theatres playing to an average of 85 percent capacity. Theatregoers paid an average of $113 to catch a Broadway show.

Oscar winner Cate Blanchett had a strong first performance in The Present, a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov鈥檚 first play, Platonov, that began previews December 17 at the Barrymore Theatre. It took in $151,686 for its sold-out Saturday night performance.

Dear Evan Hansen, the original musical starring Ben Platt that opened to raves December 4 at the Music Box Theatre, had its best week yet taking in $1,051,248 at the box office.
