At $225, the star-led Shakespeare revival had the top average ticket price on Broadway last week.

Broadway said goodbye to the star-led revival of Romeo and Juliet at the Circle in the Square Theatre last week, and it looks like theatregoers were willing to pay a premium to see the final performances.

The production鈥攚hich had been sold out all but one week of its entire run鈥攃arried an average ticket price of $225 last week, the highest on the Main Stem. And that helped the revival see the highest gross of its entire run, a total of $1.5 million. We found out earlier today that the production recouped its entire $7 million initial investment and that its audiences were the youngest in recorded Broadway history. Looks like the revival found a winning combination that millennials and Gen-Zs were more than willing to pay for.

With Broadway Week's BOGO ticket offer behind us, we saw cumulative grosses make a pretty steep increase last week. The final week of Broadway Week saw $28 million over the 27 available shows, which this week, albeit with one additional show (Operation Mincemeat with only one single preview), brought in $32 million鈥攁 14.4% increase. Unsurprisingly, that was almost completely because of ticket prices. The average paid ticket last week was $132.29, up almost $20 from $113.50 the week prior. Even with actual attendance down ever so slightly鈥攋ust under 2%, to be exact鈥攖hat translated to huge gains across the board. Compared to this same period from last season, we're currently besting the 2023鈥2024 season by 19.45%.

As for the winners, Wicked continued its reign of dominance in the number-one spot, followed by HamiltonThe Lion King, and The Outsiders. That fifth spot was filled by All In, which, while a high-grossing play throughout its run, was not a top-five mainstay. That's another show that saw success with some pricey tickets. Its final week played to an average ticket price of $197. No wonder its producers have already announced a follow-up for next season.
