More than 50 members of the Broadway community sleep on the streets of New York City August 15 at Covenant House in support of the homeless youth.
鈥淲ith the recent violence here at home and abroad, I am energized to love as hard as I can,鈥� said actress and Covenant House International board member Capathia Jenkins. 鈥淚鈥檓 honored to be a part of the Broadway community as we step up to this worthy cause with our hearts wide open for the fourth consecutive year. These extraordinary kids of Covenant House continue to feed my soul.鈥�
Jenkins is joined by other Broadway stars as well as directors, technicians and behind-the-scenes professionals, including Stephanie J. Block, Jeff Calhoun, Lilli Cooper, Max Crumm, Laura Osnes, Elizabeth A. Davis, Darius de Haas, Montego Glover, Audra McDonald, Rory O鈥橫alley, Nic Rouleau, Keala Settle, Thomas Schumacher and many others. 半岛体育鈥檚 Michael Gioia will also be on hand to sleep out and report back from the streets.

The Sleep Out is a one-night fundraising event, beginning with the young people of meeting and speaking with the Broadway community at the crisis shelter at 460 W. 41st Street. The Broadway Sleep Out participants will then receive cardboard boxes, sleeping bags and a piece of pavement for the night.
The Sleep Out executive committee of McDonald, Block, Calhoun, de Haas, Jenkins, Schumacher and Settle have rallied the entire Broadway community to fight homelessness.
