Broadway's Othello revival officially opened last month, and with stars like Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal leading the cast, it's no secret that tickets to the show are going for a pretty penny鈥攚ith many articles being written about the show's top-tier ticket price of $921. But don't worry鈥攚e've got a few tips to help you snag a seat at the Barrymore Theatre without emptying your wallet.
For each performance (subject to availability), any theatregoer has a chance to win up to two $49 tickets by entering the production's digital lottery . The lottery opens at 12:00 AM and closes at 3:00 PM the day before each performance, with winners drawn at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Seats may be located in any section of the theatre, and may be partial view.
The production is also offering a $49 student rush. Students with a valid ID may purchase up to two tickets in person on the day of each performance, subject to availability, when the Barrymore Theatre box office opens at 10:00 AM (12:00 PM on Sundays). Seating locations will be determined at the discretion of the box office.
And if you'd rather not try your chances at the lottery or box office, there's also Audience Rewards, which allows you to gather reward points (ShowPoints) on every Broadway ticket you buy. The loyalty program then allows you to redeem ShowPoints for tickets and ticket discounts, including shows that are hard or especially expensive to get tickets to. They currently have offers for Othello available at .
If you are affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of America, Othello is also partnering with that organization to bring 2,000 students in New York and New Jersey to the show for free.
