The current revival of Lerner and Loewe鈥檚 My Fair Lady releases its cast album from Broadway Records June 8. The recording, produced by David Lai and Ted Sperling, is for physical and digital purchase.
The production officially opened April 19 at 叠谤辞补诲飞补测鈥檚 Vivian Beaumont Theatre.
Directed by Bartlett Sher, who for this work, the new staging stars Lauren Ambrose as Eliza Doolittle, Harry Hadden-Paton as Henry Higgins, Norbert Leo Butz as Alfred P. Doolittle, and Diana Rigg as Mrs. Higgins (who each earned Tony nominations for their performances), as well as Allan Corduner as Colonel Pickering, Jordan Donica as Freddy Eynsford-Hill, Linda Mugleston as Mrs. Pearce, and Manu Narayan as Zoltan Karpathy.
The production鈥檚 ensemble features Cameron Adams, Shereen Ahmed, Kerstin Anderson, Heather Botts, John Treacy Egan, Rebecca Eichenberger, SuEllen Estey, Christopher Faison, Steven Trumon Gray, Adam Grupper, Michael Halling, Joe Hart, Sasha Hutchings, Kate Marilley, Liz McCartney, Justin Lee Miller, Rommel Pierre O鈥機hoa, Keven Quillon, JoAnna Rhinehart, Tony Roach, Lance Roberts, Blair Ross, Christine Cornish Smith, Paul Slade Smith, Samantha Sturm, Matt Wall, Michael Williams, Minami Yusui, and Lee Zarrett.
Featuring such songs as 鈥淚 Could Have Danced All Night,鈥� 鈥淲ouldn鈥檛 It Be Loverly,鈥� 鈥淥n the Street Where You Live,鈥� and 鈥淚鈥檝e Grown Accustomed to Her Face,鈥� the album will showcase the production鈥檚 29-piece orchestra with the show鈥檚 original musical arrangements by Robert Russell Bennett and Phil Lang, and dance arrangements by Trude Rittmann.
The production has also been nominated for Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Costume Design of a Musical for Catherine Zuber, Best Scenic Design of a Musical for Michael Yeargan, Best Lighting Design of a Musical for Donald Holder, and Best Choreography for Christopher Gattelli.
