Bryan Fuller, the creator of the ABC series Pushing Daisies that ran 2007 to 2009, still has hope for the work about a pie maker who is able to bring dead things back to life with a simple touch.
Fuller told that he believes Pushing Daisies could be a Broadway musical: 鈥淭here are some obstacles there as far as revitalizing it as a television show, but...I鈥檇 love to see it as a Broadway musical. I can just imagine Tim Minchin鈥檚 lyrics, can鈥檛 you? If you鈥檙e reading this article, Tim, call me!鈥
Fuller first expressed interest in adapting the title for the stage . At the time, he teased the idea, saying, "I would love to do a musical and make it all about Kristin Chenoweth and her character, Olive Snook. I think it would be incredible!"
Narrated by Tony winner Jim Dale, the series concerned pie-maker Ned, played by Lee Pace. The cast also included Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Tony nominee Ellen Greene, and two-time Tony winner Swoosie Kurtz.
Minchin, who wrote the score to the musical Matilda, was represented on Broadway this past season with the musical version of Groundhog Day.
