Florida's Riverside Theatre has announced casting for its production of Ring of Fire, which features the music of Johnny Cash. Directed by and starring Jason Edwards, the production will play October 25-November 13 on the Stark Stage.

The cast also includes Trenna Barnes, Allison Briner-Dardenne and Benjamin D. Hale. Musicians onstage include Jeff Lisenby (keyboards, accordion), Brent Moyer (electric and acoustic guitars, trumpet), Walter Hartman (drums), Brantley Kearns (fiddle), John Marshall (upright bass) and Sam Sherwood (electric and acoustic guitars, dobro, mandolin, harmonica).

鈥淔rom the songbook of iconic artist Johnny Cash comes this crowd-pleasin鈥�, foot-stompin鈥� musical celebration that tells a fascinating story of love and faith, struggle and success, rowdiness and redemption, and home and family,鈥� according to press notes. The musical boasts more than three dozen classic Cash hits, including 鈥淚 Walk The Line,鈥� 鈥淎 Boy Named Sue,鈥� 鈥淔olsom Prison Blues鈥� and 鈥淩ing of Fire.鈥� Conceived by William Meade and created by Richard Maltby, Jr., Ring Of Fire 鈥渄ramatizes the story of a man who grew up poor in America鈥檚 heartland and traveled the world on the strength of his music and talent. Throughout his journey, Johnny Cash finds love, success, faith, misadventure, heartache, redemption, and the love of a good woman.鈥�

The production crew also includes music director Jeff Lisenby, choreographer Denise Patton, designer John Iacovelli, costume designer Gordon DeVinney, lighting designer Kenton Yeager, sound designer Craig Beyrooti and production stage manager Audrey M. Brown.
