News Dana Ivey Is Part of Tonight's Reading of Cradle Song, About Nuns Raising an Abandoned Baby A baby abandoned at a convent transforms the lives of a group of nuns in , Gregorio Martinez Sierra鈥檚 1927 drama getting a reading March 9 by The Acting Company at Off-Broadway's Pearl Theater.

The reading features the talents of Acting Company board member and Acting Company alumni , Anne McNaughton, Jacqueline Correa, Julie Jesneck, Joseph Midyett, Pamela Nyberg and Myxolydia Tyler as well as guest artists Gisela Chipe and Amanda Pinto.

鈥�The Cradle Song has been translated into many languages and performed worldwide but not seen on Broadway since directed it in 1927,鈥� said Margot Harley, producer of The Acting Company, in a recent statement. 鈥淭he playwright was a pioneer of 20th Century Theater in Spain, translating and producing works of Shakespeare, Shaw and Pirandello as well as commissioning Federico Garcia Lorca to write plays and engaging Salvador Dali to design sets for his theater.鈥�

The reading will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Jonathan Bank, artistic director of the Mint Theater Company.
