Hamilton actor Daniel J. Watts and his The Jam: Only Child, an evening of music, dance and spoken word, return to NYC with an October 15 performance at SubCulture. Doors open at 7 PM, the show begins at 8 PM.

The Jam pays homage to Watts鈥 great-grandmother who, after making jam from scratch, would share with others what she was unable to consume herself. Watts says The Jam is his continuation of that legacy. The show debuted in summer 2017 as The Jam: Love Terrorists鈥擜 Benefit for Orlando in the Marlin Room of Webster Hall.

鈥淓ach time I put together a new edition of The Jam, it is inspired by what is happening in the world, in my world, or in my life,鈥 said the artist and activist. 鈥淭his Jam has a coming-of-age feel. It involves journeying through the experiences that have shaped my perceptions and influenced my decision-making, allowing me to take stock of what I need to hold on to and what I can afford to let go.鈥

Watts has appeared on Broadway seven times, including productions of In the Heights, Memphis, After Midnight, The Little Mermaid, The Color Purple, and Motown the Musical. He appears in TBS鈥 upcoming The Last O.G.

Watts will be joined at Joe鈥檚 Pub by DJ Duggz, a.k.a. Preston W. Dugger III (Motown the Musical, Memphis).

Tickets are $30 through October 7, and $40 October 8鈥15 and can be ordered . SubCulture is located at 45 Bleecker Street in Manhattan.
