Academy Award winner Da'Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) will return to her hometown later this month to star in Philadelphia Theatre Company's benefit reading of Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, held November 26 at 7:00 PM.

Robert D. DoQui (Hatchet III) will star as Johnny alongside Randolph's Frankie. Pulitzer Prize winner James Ijames (Fat Ham) is set to direct.

Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune follows a couple on their first date: Johnny, who is deeply romantic and open-hearted, instantly connects with Frankie and imagines their future together. Frankie, however, is skeptical of Johnny鈥檚 intensity, and wary of being hurt again. As the night progresses, Johnny鈥檚 persistence and genuine vulnerability begin to break down Frankie鈥檚 defenses. A Tony-nominated revival played a limited engagement on Broadway in 2019, with Audra McDonald and Michael Shannon starring.

鈥淚n celebration of PTC's 50th anniversary, we're honored to bring this collection of all-star talent to bear on one of the best American plays written in the past half-century, all to benefit our education and community engagement initiatives,鈥 Philadelphia Theatre Company Artistic Director Tyler Dobrowsky said in a statement. 鈥淲e can't wait to see what the brilliant trio of Da'Vine, Robert, and James will create together!鈥

Proceeds will support Philadelphia Theater Company's mission to expand the future of theatre and arts access in the area, as well as its education and community engagement programs.
