The Garry Hynes-helmed production of Waiting for Godot from Ireland's Druid Theatre will play Off-Broadway this fall as part of Lincoln Center's 2018 White Light Festival. The multidisciplinary festival will return for a ninth year, playing October 16鈥揘ovember 18 in six venues across the city.
Druid's Waiting for Godot premiered in the 2016 Galway International Arts Festival, where it won numerous awards and critical acclaim. The company's reimagining of the Samuel Beckett classic will debut in the U.S. at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College November 2鈥�13. Reprising their performances will be Garrett Lombard, Aaron Monaghan, Rory Nolan, and Marty Rea.
Among other offerings, the 2018 White Light Festival will also feature the return of Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui鈥檚 Sutra, which had its U.S. premiere in a sold-out run at the inaugural White Light Festival in 2010; Xenos, Akram Khan鈥檚 solo work that combines classical Indian kathak and contemporary dance; and the U.S. premiere of Blak Whyte Gray from London鈥檚 Boy Blue, which fuses hip-hop dance with African-inspired grooves and an electronic score.
