Tuck Everlasting features a book by Tony Award nominee () and , based on Natalie Babbitt's best-selling 1975 novel of the same name. Music is by (The Burnt Part Boys), lyrics are by (The Burnt Part Boys) and direction and choreography are by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (, , ).
Miller and Tysen have written The Burnt Part Boys (2010 nomination, Best Musical) and Fugitive Songs (2008 Drama Desk Award nomination, Outstanding Revue), both of which have cast albums on Yellow Sound Label available at iTunes and Amazon. . Here's how the musical is billed: "If you could live forever, would you? When Winnie Foster discovers the magical secret of the Tuck family, she embarks on an extraordinary adventure that will change her life forever. Take a journey you'll never forget in this powerful new musical about love, family and living life to the fullest."
The new musical was originally scheduled to play a pre-Broadway Boston engagement in 2013, but producers announced that they would delay the musical's Broadway arrival due to the lack of an available theatre.
The production will feature scenic design by (A Christmas Story The Musical, ), costume design by Tony Award winner (!, Aladdin, ), lighting design by Tony Award winner (, Kinky Boots, ), sound design by Tony Award winner (Beautiful The Musical, The Book of Mormon), orchestrations by John Clancy (, Shrek) and musical supervision by (The Pajama Game, eight seasons as music director of Encores!). Casting is by Telsey + Company (Bethany Berg Knox, CSA).
