News Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder to End Broadway Run The Tony Award-winning Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, will play its final performance on Broadway Jan. 17, 2016, producer Joey Parnes announced Sept. 8.

At that time the production will have played 30 previews and 905 regular performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre, and its Tony Award-winning star, , will have died more than 6,000 deaths as various members of the ill-fated D鈥橸squith family.

A Gentleman鈥檚 Guide to Love and Murder will launch its first national tour later this month. The tour route includes stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Washington DC, and Toronto, among many other markets.

In April, Gentleman鈥檚 Guide announced the recoupment of its entire Broadway production capitalization. The hit musical received ten 2014 Tony Award nominations, winning four awards: Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical, and Best Costume Design.

鈥淭he success of this show 鈥� which we鈥檝e often said is nothing short of a miracle 鈥� is a testament to the artists who have created it and the audiences who have embraced it,鈥� said Parnes in a statement. 鈥淭his experience has been such a constant joy and, while we wish it could run on Broadway forever, we are excited about bringing the show to audiences from coast-to-coast with our tour.鈥�

, who was Tony-nominated for creating the role of Monty Navarro in the Broadway production of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, returned to the Tony-winning production July 28 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Pinkham took a leave of absence from the production last winter to star in the Broadway revival of 's .

"I am positively rhapsodic over the prospect of returning to Highhurst Castle," Pinkham said in an earlier statement. "I am particularly overjoyed to be reunited with my hero and partner(s) in crime, Jefferson Mays. By the way, do the D'ysquith's know I'm coming back? I bet they'll be tickled to death."

Gentleman鈥檚 Guide, according to press notes, "tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession, by any means necessary. All the while, he鈥檚 got to juggle his mistress (she鈥檚 after more than just love), his fianc茅e (she鈥檚 his cousin but who鈥檚 keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance鈥� and be done in time for tea."

The Tony-winning musical features a book by , music by , and lyrics by Freedman and Lutvak. directs, and Peggy Hickey choreographs.
