The ZACH Theatre production of Matthew Lo虂pez's The Inheritance, the 2020 Tony winner for Best Play, will begin with Part 1 starting August 10 in Austin, Texas. Helmed by Producing Artistic Director Dave Steakley, performances will continue through September 4.
Starring Peter Frechette as E.M. Forster (鈥淢organ鈥�) and Walter Poole, the production closes the company's 2021-22 season; the 2022-23 season will launch with The Inheritance Part 2.

Set in contemporary Manhattan, The Inheritance follows Eric and Toby, 30-somethings who seem to be in love and thriving. But on the cusp of their engagement, they meet an older man haunted by the past and a younger man hungry for a future.
Following its London premiere, The Inheritance played Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre September 27, 2019-March 11, 2020, subsequently winning four Tony Awards: Best Play, Best Direction of a Play, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play, and Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play.
The upcoming production will also have scenic design by Josafath Reynoso, costume design by Aaron Kubacak, lighting design by Austin Brown, and sound design by Allen Robertson.
