News Gypsy's Electra to Light Up "Big Bang Theory" June Squibb, the actress who sang "If you wanna make it, twinkle while you shake it" opposite Ethel Merman during the original run of Gypsy on Broadway, has been tapped to play the role of Sheldon's "Meemaw" on the TV series "The Big Bang Theory," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Squibb replaced the original light-up stripper Electra, Chotzi Foley, during the original run of the classic musical, in which they sang "You Gotta Get a Gimmick." She also appeared in the original casts of Broadway's , Gorey Stories and Sacrilege. In his role as Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory," actor (Broadway's Act of God and ) has frequently quoted his Meemaw (grandmother), but the character has not been seen until now.
