Jason Robert Brown and Andrew Bergman's 2015 Broadway musical Honeymoon in Vegas, based on the 1992 film of the same name, is to receive its U.K. premiere in a concert staging at the London Palladium March 12, with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra conducted by the composer himself.
In a press statement, Brown has commented, "Honeymoon in Vegas is the show I always aspired to write. All of these sounds鈥攖he swing, the samba, the disco, the boogie, the rock 鈥檔鈥� roll鈥攎ake up what I hear in my head when I think of what a 鈥楤roadway musical鈥� should be. I鈥檓 so gratified to have actually written it, and thrilled to get a chance鈥攆inally!鈥攖o present it in London. And to know that the music will be brought to life by the sterling musicians of the LMTO and a glorious cast is such a delight and a privilege. I鈥檝e had so many sensational experiences in the British theater that it feels like coming home. I cannot wait to get started!鈥�
The LMTO, which debuted last year with concert performances of State Fair and A Christmas Carol, will also present Bernstein's Candide at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea July 21.
