News Into the Woods Star Makes Broadway Debut in Chicago Tonight Ivan Hernandez, who played The Wolf and Cinderella's Prince in the Public Theater production of Into the Woods, makes his Broadway debut June 15 in the role of Billy Flynn in the Tony-winning production of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre.

Hernandez' other credits include The Mambo Kings at San Francisco鈥檚 Golden Gate Theatre, Zhivago (directed by ) at , Romantic Poetry (written and directed by ) at Manhattan Theatre Club, the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway musical Yank!, 鈥檚 The Capeman presented by The Public Theater, and Pirate (also by John Patrick Shanley) at Vassar/New York Stage.

The Broadway company also features Grammy Award winner as Roxie Hart (through Aug. 2), as Velma Kelly, as Amos Hart, as Matron 鈥淢ama鈥� Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

The revival of and 's Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores! presentations offered by City Center. The musical opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in November 1996 where it remained through February 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre on Feb. 11, 1997, and played that house through Jan. 26, 2003. The revival reopened at the Ambassador Theatre, its current home, on Jan. 29, 2003.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for original cast members and , director , lighting designer Billington and choreographer . The original 1975 production was directed and choreographed by the late . The Ambassador Theatre is located at 219 W. 49th Street.
