News Is Daniel Craig Eyeing Othello Off-Broadway? Daniel Craig, who recently said he wasn't keen on returning to Broadway due to aging audiences and rising ticket prices, may instead give Off-Broadway a go.

reports that Craig () is in talks to star as Iago in a production of Shakespeare's Othello at the in spring 2016. A director and dates of production are not set. In an interview with , Craig stated that he wasn't interested in returning to Broadway. "I'd like to do some theater in New York. I've done Broadway and I was happy with that, but I don't want to do Broadway anymore," he said. "The audience is all over 50, on the whole, and I think new faces and cheaper tickets are the only way forward. And it鈥檚 never going to happen."

NYTW's fall production will be Lazarus, the new stage collaboration from and . Also planned for 2016 are Lucas Hnath's Red Speedo and Ana茂s Mitchell's Hadestown. The latter productions have not revealed dates.
