The Play Company (PlayCo) has announced casting for the New York premiere of Caught by Christopher Chen. The cast includes Jennifer Lim (Chinglish), Murphy Guyer (The King & I), Louis Ozawa Changchien (The Bourne Legacy) and Leslie Fray.
With direction by Lee Sunday Evans, performances of this new genre-bending piece begin August 17 at La MaMa and will continue through September 17.
Caught is billed as a 鈥渉ybrid art-theatre鈥� piece based on the work of a Chinese dissident artist. It is described as an 鈥渆xploration into the nature of authority and authenticity, inviting you to navigate the labyrinthine relationships between truth and perception, illusionary art and real jeopardy.鈥�
Caught received a Sundance residency during its development and has upcoming productions slated for Seattle, Chicago and Berkeley.
