Broadway alum, writer, and podcaster Jessica Fontana releases a debut solo album Every Day Special via Brainstorm Records January 26. The 10-track album is now available to purchase and stream on all digital music platforms.
The release bridges the worlds of theatre and pop and also includes an original song penned by Fontana with husband Santino Fontana and Frank Galgano and Matt Castle. The track, "Every Day Special," inspired the album's title.
鈥淚 wanted to find songs that reflect where I am today and what I care about,鈥� said Jessica Fontana in a statement. 鈥淎ll of our lives were upended by the pandemic, but I also became a mom鈥攖wice鈥攊n three years. The most consistent part of my life lately has been change. I don鈥檛 think I鈥檓 alone in feeling that way鈥攁nd it鈥檚 one of the many reasons I鈥檓 excited to share the album."
鈥淲e met Jessica in 2015 through Jack Cummings III, who asked us to create new arrangements and orchestrations for Transport Group鈥檚 Off-Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress," add Galgano and Castle of Brainstorm Records. "Jess played Lady Larken鈥攁nd we were instantly smitten with her wit, intellect, and her vocal strength and agility. Two years (and many life and world events) later, here we are; and we feel that the wait was well worthwhile.
