Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera has announced dates and additional creative team members for its upcoming world premiere of the new musical Madame Clicquot. The work will be presented May 29-June 8 at the Byham Theatre, with an official opening May 30.
Madame Clicquot tells the story of Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin and her journey revolutionizing the world of Champagne during the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. Written by Lisette Glodowski and Richard C. Walter, the work released a studio album in 2023.
As previously reported, Laurie Glodowski will direct and choreograph, with musical direction by Kenneth Gartman, and arrangements and orchestrations by Frank Galgano and Matt Castle. The production will also feature costume design by Janet Campbell, projection design by Mark Ciglar of Cinevative, and set design by Holly Fleischer.
