Tony winner John Lloyd Young returns to the Caf茅 Carlyle May 14.
The Jersey Boys Tony winner, who has played the Manhattan venue for over a decade, is offering concerts through May 18. Young is set to perform rock 鈥榥鈥� roll, doo-wop, and R&B tunes, including songs from his debut album, My Turn. Steve Marzullo is the musical director.
Audiences can expect to hear such classics as 鈥淪herry,鈥� 鈥淐an鈥檛 Take My Eyes Off of You,鈥� 鈥淗old Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me,鈥� and 鈥淯nchained Melody,鈥� as well as other songs originally introduced by Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Platters, Smokey Robinson, and Roy Orbison.
Young said in an earlier statement, 鈥淚鈥檓 a sucker for classics. There are only a few places in New York that have retained their elegant, old-world charm throughout the decades. The Caf茅 Carlyle is one of them. I鈥檓 in love with that timeless room and the timeless songs I sing there.鈥�
Young, who also recently announced a London concert engagement, preserved his Broadway work in Clint Eastwood鈥檚 Jersey Boys film adaptation for Warner Bros. Pictures.
