Broadway Sweeney Todd and Les Mis茅rables alum John Rapson is joining the Off-Broadway cast of the long-running slapstick comedy The Play That Goes Wrong, continuing its run at New World Stages. Rapson will play the role of Robert for a limited run beginning February 14 and continuing through March 16.

Rapson will join a cast including Trevor Braun鈥痑s Dennis, Ashley N. Co-created by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry ShieldsThe Play That Goes Wrong invites audiences to the Cornley University Drama Society as they perform... or at least attempt to perform... a 1920s murder mystery, only for every live theatre snafu possible to befall the beleaguered cast.

Directed by Mark Bell, the production premiered in London in 2012, eventually moving to the West End and winning an Olivier for Best New Comedy. A Broadway transfer opened in 2017, and moved to its current Off-Broadway home in 2019.

The production features set design by Nigel Hook, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by Jeremy Cunningham (from Ric Mountjoy's original), and sound design by Beth Lake (from Andrew Johnson's original). Matt DiCarlo is the current director.
