Th茅r猫se Raquin, the first production of 's 50th anniversary season, will now officially open Oct. 29 at Studio 54.
Evan Cabnet (The Performers, Off-Broadway's The Dream of the Burning Boy) will direct Edmundson's new adaptation of Th茅r猫se Raquin, which was commissioned by Roundabout Theatre Company.
Ebert (Matilda, The Heart of Robin Hood) will portray Camille, with Light (The Assembled Parties, Other Desert Cities, Lomardi) as Madame Raquin and Ryan (Henry V, Hamlet Small Change) as Laurent. Knightly ("The Imitation Game," The Children's Hour, The Misanthrope) stars in the title role.
Here's how it's billed: "A quiet young woman with a restless spirit, Th茅r猫se (Knightley) submits to a loveless life at the side of her weak and selfish husband played by Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert, and her controlling mother-in-law, played by two- time Tony Award winner Judith Light...until she meets his childhood friend Laurent played by Matt Ryan. When their overwhelming passion spins violently out of control, they realize that love can be a dangerous game, and sometimes there is no winner.
