The one-night-only tribute concert will feature the talents of , , , , , and more. The evening will include live performances and taped tributes from an array of show-business luminaries, as well as video clips of many of Channing鈥檚 career milestones.
In Celebration of the Broadway Legend is produced by Chad Hilligus, with musical direction by Steven Baker and choreography by . The artists will be backed by a 27-piece orchestra.
A recipient of the 1995 Lifetime Achievement Tony Award, Channing received her first Theatre World Award for her performance in 1948's . She was spotted in that production by author and cast in the 1949 musical as Lorelei Lee. She came to national prominence as the star of , for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
Channing is a longtime advocate for arts education and has been honored by the California state legislature for her work to engage the public about the importance of the arts in education.
