Kyle Riabko, who replaced lead roles in Broadway鈥檚 Spring Awakening and Hair, continues his exploration of the works of composer Burt Bacharach with his cabaret show Bacharach Reimagined for two performances, September 29 and 30, at Joe鈥檚 Pub in New York City.
The show draws on Riabko鈥檚 musical revue Close to You: Bacharach Reimagined, which had a hit run in the West End after premiering at New York Theatre Workshop in 2014 under the title What's It All About?. The Joe鈥檚 Pub engagement is timed to celebrate the U.S. release of the original London cast recording on Ghostlight Records. Riabko performed the show at Joe鈥檚 Pub previously in 2016.
Accompanying himself on guitar, Riabko will perform his new arrangement of Bacharach鈥檚 pop hits including 鈥淎lfie,鈥 鈥淚 Say A Little Prayer,鈥 鈥淲alk On By,鈥 鈥淩aindrops Keep Fallin鈥 On My Head,鈥 and others. Working with his longtime lyricist Hal David, Bacharach supplied the score to the 1968 Broadway musical Promises, Promises, which included the song 鈥淚鈥檒l Never Fall in Love Again鈥 and the title tune.
In his teen years, Riabko released an album of original material and performed as an opening act for such artists as B.B. King, James Brown, John Mayer, Keb Mo, Jason Mraz, and Maroon 5.
Riabko is scheduled to return to Joe鈥檚 Pub November 2鈥4 with another in his series, .
