News Lady, Be Good Recording, With Tommy Tune, Will Be Released on CD in November Ghostlight Records will release the 2015 New York City Center Encores! cast recording of Lady, Be Good!, the classic musical with a score by George and Ira Gershwin, on CD Nov. 13. The album is already available in digital formats.

The album is produced by 鈥� who conducts the 30-piece Encores! Orchestra 鈥� and Scott Lehrer, with Kurt Deutsch serving as executive producer. The recording features a 20-page full-color booklet with an essay by Rob Fisher and a detailed synopsis by Encores! artistic director Jack Viertel.

Lady, Be Good played the famed Manhattan venue Feb. 4-8 with a cast that featured (J. Watterson Watkins), (Jeff), Colin Donnell (Jack Robinson), (Dick Trevor), Jeff Hiller (Bertie Bassett), Erin Mackey (Shirley Vernon), (Susie Trevor), Richard Poe (Rufus Parke/Manuel Estrada), Jennifer Laura Thompson (Josephine Vanderwater) and Kirsten Wyatt (Daisy Parke).

Lady, Be Good was directed by and choreographed by . Founding Encores! music director Fisher returned as guest music director, and supervised the restoration of the Gershwins鈥� original score.

Lady, Be Good, according to press notes, "tells the story of a penniless brother (Danny Gardner) and sister (Patti Murin) who crash a garden party in hopes of some quick nourishment. They resolve to marry for money, but love gets in the way, as it usually does. Before true love wins out, they encounter Mexican gangsters, crooked lawyers, wealthy socialites, and a song-and-dance man with fascinating rhythm (Tommy Tune)."

The musical opened at the Liberty Theater on Dec. 1, 1924, and ran for 330 performances. It has music by and lyrics by Ira Gershwin with a book by and . The original production starred Fred and .
