Gaga's tribute is set to be directed by three-time Grammy winner Nile Rodgers, who produced Mr. Bowie's acclaimed 1983 album "Let's Dance." The news of the tribute follows the recent announcement of a new biography chronicling his final years, scheduled to be released later this year.
Mr. Bowie lost a very private 18-month battle with cancer Jan. 10 at age 69. He released his album "Blackstar" just days before his death and had recently made his musical theatre writing debut with Lazarus, a new musical created by Mr. Bowie in collaboration with Tony-winning playwright . Helmed by , Lazarus finished performances at Jan. 20. Van Hove was one of the few to have known about his illness. He said Mr. Bowie told him about it when they first began collaborating on the show, but asked that it remain strictly confidential.
