Casting has been revealed for Classic Stage Company's upcoming reading of Fay Kanin's Goodbye, My Fancy, the last in the Rediscovery Readings series. As previously announced, the performance is set for February 10 at the company's Lynn F. Angelson Theater.
The comedy follows a female U.S. congressperson who returns to her alma mater to accept an honorary degree, only to find herself acting like a teenager all over again. Jess Chayes (Jane Anger) will direct.
Maggie Siff (Mad Men) will lead the cast as Agatha, with Ben Beckley (What the Constitution Means to Me) as Dr. Pitt, Carmen Berkeley (Our Dear Dead Drug Lord) as Mary Nell, Camila Can贸-Flavi谩 (Patriots) as Ginny Merrill, Veanne Cox (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Miss Shackleford, Lennox T. Duong (Cymbeline) as Clarisse, Stephanie Everett (Flex) as Amelia and Jo, David Garrison (The Great Society) as Professor Dingley, Annie Golden (Orange is the New Black) as Mrs. Birdeshaw, Andy Lucien (Bad Krey貌l) as Cole, Jenn Lyon (Elsbeth) as Ellen Griswold, Maria-Christina Oliveras (Between Riverside and Crazy) as Grace Woods, Rachel Resheff (The People in the Picture) as Susan and Carol, Patrick Sabongui (The Hunting Party) as James Merrill, and C.J. Wilson (Hold On to Me Darling) as Claude Griswold.
CSC's Rediscovery Readings series presents works from female playwrights who shaped the American theatre. Past offerings have included Zona Gale's Miss Lulu Bett; an evening of short plays featuring works by Susan Glaspell, Alice Childress, and Josefina Niggli; and Carton McCullers' The Member of the Wedding.
The company will present Childress' Wine in the Wilderness beginning in March, with William Inge's Bus Stop (a co-production with NAATCO and Transport Group) following in May.
