Oscar winner Smith reprises her stage role in the Sony Pictures Classics film, which features direction by .
The film made its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September and its U.S. premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival Oct. 9. Smith was nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Actress.

Smith, a Tony winner for her performance in , and currently popular for playing the Dowager Countess in the TV series "Downton Abbey," plays Miss Mary Shepherd, "an eccentric woman of uncertain origins, who 'temporarily' parked her broken-down van in Bennett鈥檚 London driveway 鈥� and proceeded to live there for the next 15 years," according to a previous description. The film also features as playwright Bennett with , , , and Jim Broadbent.
Director Hytner produced along with Damian Jones and Kevin Loader.
