International News Matthew Modine Is Atticus Finch in London's To Kill a Mockingbird Beginning November 21

Cecilia Noble, Jason Hughes, and more also join the cast of Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.

Golden Globe winner Matthew Modine (Birdy, Vision Quest, Full Metal Jacket, Stranger Things) and Olivier nominee Cecilia Noble (Nine Night, Downstate, Killing Eve, Call the Midwife) step into the roles of Atticus Finch and Calpurnia, respectively, beginning November 21 in the London production of Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of Harper Lee鈥檚 To Kill a Mockingbird at the Gielgud Theatre.

Also joining the cast are Cheryl Burniston, Colin R. Campbell as Mr. Roscoe/Dr. Reynolds, Jack Crumlin, Alan Drake, Max Ferguson, Phillipa Flynn, Ellis Howard as Dill Harris, Jason Hughes as Bob Ewell, Niamh James, Julie Legrand, Nigel Lister, Sam Mitchell as Jem Finch, and George Telfer. 

Remaining in the company are Harry Attwell as Mr. Cunningham/Boo Radley, Helen Belbin as Miss Stephanie/Dill鈥檚 Mother, Niall Buggy as Judge Taylor, John Hastings as Bailiff, Rebecca Hayes as Mayella Ewell, Simon Hepworth as Link Deas, Tom Mannion as Sheriff Heck Tate, Anna Munden as Scout Finch, Tiwai Muza, Itoya Osagiede, Jude Owusu as Tom Robinson, Oyin Oyija, David Sturzaker as Horace Gilmer, and Natasha Williams as Mrs. Dubose鈥檚 Maid plus Candida Caldicot on organ and Ciyo Brown and Jack Benjamin on guitar.

The most recent company, with Richard Coyle as Atticus Finch, played their final performances November 19. The production is currently selling tickets through February 4, 2023.

Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, the production began previews at the Gielgud March 10 prior to an official opening March 31.

Joining Sher and the original Broadway creative team鈥攕et designer Miriam Buether, costume designer Ann Roth, lighting designer Jennifer Tipton, sound designer Scott Lehrer, composer Adam Guettel, music supervisor Kimberly Grigsby, and hair and wig designer Campbell Young Associates鈥攁re casting director Serena Hill, voice and dialect coach Hazel Holder, associate director Titas Halder, assistant director Rasheka Christie-Carter, cultural coordinator Tavia Riv茅e Jefferson, and musical director Candida Caldicot.

To Kill a Mockingbird premiered in December 2018 at Broadway鈥檚 Shubert Theatre. On February 26, 2020鈥攁 few weeks before the Broadway shutdown鈥攖he Broadway cast gave a history-making free performance at Madison Square Garden in front of 18,000 New York City school children. Mockingbird, which resumed its Broadway run in October 2021, played its final performance at the Shubert January 16. The acclaimed production previously announced it will not reopen on Broadway.

Set in Alabama in 1934, Harper Lee鈥檚 enduring story of racial injustice and childhood innocence centers on small-town lawyer Atticus Finch. The cast of characters includes Atticus鈥� daughter Scout, her brother Jem, their housekeeper and caretaker, Calpurnia, their visiting friend Dill, and a mysterious neighbor, the reclusive Arthur 鈥淏oo鈥� Radley.
