Obituaries Memorial for Actor Alvin Epstein Will Be Held at Irish Repertory Theatre April 29 Mark Rylance, Robert Brustein, and David Cromer are among the artists who will honor the late actor known for his roles in Beckett鈥檚 Waiting for Godot and Endgame.

A memorial for late actor and director Alvin Epstein, who made his mark as a premiere interpreter of Samuel Beckett鈥檚 plays, will be held at the Irish Repertory Theatre on April 29 at 3 PM.

Speakers will include American Repertory Theater founding artistic director Robert Brustein, Tony-winning director David Cromer, theatre critic Michael Feingold, pianist Steven Blier, veteran actor, dancer, and choreographer Carmen DeLavallade,and a video tribute by Tony- and Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance.

Kathryn Grody will serve as master of ceremony.

Epstein, , was best-known for his performance as Lucky in the Broadway premiere of Beckett鈥檚 Waiting for Godot, as well as his frequent appearances in Endgame, in which he originated the role of Clov for the play鈥檚 U.S. premiere. He played Nagg in a 2008 production of Endgame at BAM co-starring Elaine Stritch and John Turturro.

His additional credits on Broadway included the musicals No Strings and 3 Penny Opera, as well as Postmark Zero and A Place Without Doors. Outside of New York, he was a founding member of the Yale Repertory Theater and held a brief term as Artistic Director at the Guthrie Theater.
