News Money Grubbin' Whores, About Tension-Filled Divorce, Opens Off-Broadway Tonight Sean J. Quinn's dark comedy Money Grubbin' Whores officially opens Sept. 30 at 7 PM following previews that began Sept. 25 at Off-Broadway鈥檚 The Lion Theatre.

Brian Cichocki directs the limited four-week engagement, which continues through Oct. 19.

The cast features as Matt, James Andrew O鈥機onnor as Frankie, Penny Bittone as Moshe and Carmit Levit茅 as Aviva. Michael Billingsley understudies the roles of Matt and Frankie.

"First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a messy divorce negotiated in the downstairs party room of a Northern New Jersey pizza joint," according to press notes. "In this new dark comedy, NYC union plumber Matt and his gorgeous, Israeli wife Aviva are getting divorced. The back-room deal is mediated by Matt鈥檚 best friend Frankie, and Aviva鈥檚 cousin Moshe. As the couple battles it out through cultural differences, mixed messages, and high passions, one question remains鈥hat is the price of love?"

The creative team includes scenic designer Patrick J. Rizzotti, lighting designer Paul Hudson, costume designer Autie Carlisle and props designer Kathy Fabian/Propstar.

Money Grubbin' Whores is produced Off-Broadway by Hard Four Productions.
