The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced the recipients of their 2024-2025 Writers Residency Grants, part of the Frank Young Fund for New Musicals. The grants encourage collaboration between NAMT member theatres and writers at the early stages of a project.
Each of the following NAMT member organizations has been awarded $500-$2,000 in grants: American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University for Desaparecidas by Jaime Lozano, Florencia Cuenca, and Georgina Escobar; Ars Nova for Where We Meet by Kate Eberstadt; Goodspeed Musicals for Legendary by Cheeyang Ng; Montclair State University for King of Harlem by David Gomez and John-Michael Lyles; New York Theatre Barn for The Phoenix by Cheeyang Ng, Eric Sorrels, and Desdemona Chiang; Olney Theatre Center for Okuni by Naomi Iizuka and Paul Hodge; Prospect Musicals for YUKON HO by Adrian Blake Enscoe, Sydney Shepard, and Regina Strayhorn; Theater Latt茅 Da for Yoko鈥檚 Husband鈥檚 Killer鈥檚 Japanese Wife, Gloria by Brandy Hoang Collier, Clare Fuyuko Bierman, and Erika Ji; and Theatre Now New York for Kusama by Yuriko Shibata and Andrew Strano.

The next application cycle for Writers Residency Grants will open May 1.
