News NBC Pulls the Plug on Adam Levine's "The 1970s" Series Adam Levine's "The 1970s," a period musical drama series, will not be going forward at NBC, according to Deadline.

"The 1970s" was set to feature classic songs performed by contemporary artists and would have been a retelling of the wars between powerful independent music companies who were fending off big corporations.

Boardwalk Entertainment Group's writer-director Timothy Scott Bogart, music publisher Evan 'Kidd' Bogart and television producer Gary A. Randall were also attached to the project.

and Hayden Christensen were both approached about the series.

Deadline reports that producers may shop the series to another network.

In related news, HBO will premiere "Vinyl," in the same vein as "The 1970s," in 2016. , and Terence Winter are all attached to the project.
