The Public Theater has announced that the world premiere of The Outer Space, set to play a limited engagement at Joe鈥檚 Pub, has been extended one week. The new musical features a book and lyrics by Ethan Lipton and will be directed by Leigh Silverman.
Performances of The Outerspace will now run February 23鈥揂pril 9, with an official opening set for March 8.
Lipton will also perform onstage in the debut production and will be joined by Vito Dieterle, Eben Levy, and Ian Riggs.
The new musical follows two people who buy an old spaceship in the hopes of creating a life somewhere else.

The Joe鈥檚 Pub staging will feature scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Ben Stanton, and sound design by Nicholas Pope.
